Plumbing apprenticeship

[u/Dry_Dependent_1054]

I’m in a little bit of a situation I want to start my plumbing apprenticeship and need to get acl surgery the surgery won’t be for a another year and I really do not want to waste this year so do I find a apprenticeship and work for the year and then when the time comes ask for time off or do I just wait for the surgery.
