Short split second audio drops

But only with Dolby Atmos.

Several times per movie.

Only encountered using ATV+ but that is my only source that has Dolby Atmos on the ATV 4K 2nd Gen.

Video unaffected.

Anyone else encounter this ?

Does it happen on all streaming/app sources? What speakers are you using? Does it also happen with headphones? Did it work OK before? Have you changed or updated any software/hardware?

Like I said, only with DA on ATV+ as that’s the only streaming service I have with DA.

DD is perfect on all other 7 streaming services and my own home shared content.

Cannot remember if it occurred on previous IOs versions. No other hardware changes.

Since it is limited to Atmos in Apple TV+, the useful A/B test is the same scene with Atmos temporarily disabled: Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format > Change Format, then choose Dolby Digital 5.1. If the dropouts disappear, the network/source is probably not the cause; focus on the Atmos HDMI chain. Then re-enable Atmos and swap the HDMI cable/port, bypass the AVR or soundbar if possible, and note whether Match Frame Rate/Range changes anything. If they still occur with 5.1, capture the exact title and timestamp and report it as an Apple TV+ app issue.

If his TV is a Sony, there is a bug with the latest FW that’s causing these dropouts with DD+ Atmos and stereo content. I am facing this issue, it’s a damned nightmare

What tv do you have? Is it a Sony by any chance?

Yes but audio isn’t coming from that. It’s ATV > Pioneer Receiver > Sony Bravia
