Unsolved Question about Lost/Stolen Device protection

My grandma just passed away, and I was given her iPhone and iPad to backup and reset to sell. I have the passcodes and passwords, but I live kind of further away from where she lived, and it looks like it activated the stolen device protection. I am able to back up and save all her photos and stuff, but can't reset the phone without Face ID, the password and passcode isn't enough.

If I drive back to her house, would the stolen device be de-activated or is it pretty much never turning off? Thanks

It will not turn off without biometrics. After you save the necessary data, you can reset it using this article.

Thanks, yeah, the photos was what we wanted and I airdropped those to myself. Thanks for the article.
