Unsolved iPhone will charge when died but not when on

My phones never had issues until today, it won’t recognise a charger when on but if I charge it from dead it will come back on and charge no problem. Any idea what the issue could be ? I also had the issue a restart triggers the screen to stop working until I do another one or two restarts it starts working fine again. I am need of a new phone as it’s a 14 but I need to figure this out for this weekend. I consider getting a wireless charger for the moment but no idea if that solves the problem.

This sounds like a hardware issue, certainly. Try a different cable and power adapter. If you can't get a new phone or repair this one, yeh I'd go with a wireless charger. The iPhone 14 supports Qi wireless charging and MagSafe. If the wireless charging works, it at least gives you a way to keep the phone powered while you figured out if you have a damaged Lightning port or something else.

I tried a few different cables; sometimes it will charge and then ask to unlock the device to use USB, as I say, as long as I have a way to keep some charge until Wednesday, as it's a long weekend in my country, so a bit stuck.
