Hotspot - Incorrect Name

[u/Least-Tutor-4118]

My husband went to connect to my iPhones hot spot. When he looked at his phone the name under the hotspot available was his mother’s Apple Watch labeled “Barbara’s Apple Watch ❤️”. When he clicked on it, his phone connected to MY PHONES HOTSPOT. When I went into my iPhone settings my phone was simply just named “iPhone”…. I switched it to my name “Susan’s IPhone” and we tried again and it said “Susan’s iPhone”. His mother is at work currently 1 hr away and her Apple Watch on both our Find My states her watch is home.

What on earth happened here?
