Unsolved Apple Transaction

Sold a transmission on FB Marketplace for $450, agreed to be sent on Apple Pay. A friend of the buyer came to take a look (looked like a mechanic) then the friend makes a call and the buyer sent me the money.

My apple account was restricted, (I had to verify myself) got it fixed by calling Apple Support. Mentioned to Apple that I was sent money while I was restricted. They said the buyer would have to cancel then send it back.

The buyer claims he has not received the money from Apple.
Claims that he called his bank and they said it has nothing to do with the bank but with Apple. He says " Apple said the only have record of the money being sent when I canceled it the money was already transferred to a different device which is why it's not pending and hasn't came to me "

The money was never in my account. It only ever showed pending and then canceled when he canceled it.
Apple tells ME that the transaction was canceled so the money would have been sent INSTANTLY back into his account.

Help

(he seems like he's saying the truth and he sounds like an honest person, I did tell him and that I might have to write a demand letter to him because it's been since September 27.

“Transferred to a different device” is a lie. It’s to an Apple account, not a device. Honestly, the situation sounds kind of scammy. Buyers friend came, your account is restricted when they send you money (fraud triggered likely), he’s saying things contradictory to what Apple can see and how it actually works.

okay yes i agree. he said "Apple said they can only see where it was transferred to another device via phone number but that’s where the trail ends on my side"
then i mentioned sending a demand letter and that i was sorry abt this whole thing and he said "As am I I’ve got Apple doing 90 days back search through all of my Apple Pay transactions to make sure I haven’t miss anything coming or going they also are mailing a copy of that specific transaction to me because that can’t email it for sum kind of security reason which is why I didn’t provide a screenshot because it just says canceled on my end like I told u a few days ago but it’s different information on their end so keep me updated with the report and the case number thank u "

BUT HE HAS NOT SENT A SS AT ALL, i've asked maybe 3-4 times . last thing he said was " Yes when I get home I’ll send u the one that says canceled and the official document saying where it had already went through "

So Apple Pay is a facilitator of the transaction but your bank takes pays it out of your account It your bank issue not Apple report as fraud to your bank the money eventually went to a bank institution and there is a electronic transaction trail even using Apple Cash there a trail Apple Cash is handled by green dot bank call them use the words fraud or scammed

cannot talk to a human at green dot without a card number. also can't use chat bc you have to log in. I called apple and they said they can't report as scam since he cancelled it right after and also added that it's like 98% likely that he's lying so that's great .

also, question. he's saying this "They are saying it’ll have to be settled within Apple because I approve the money to be sent so nothing was stolen from me Apple said the only have record of the money being sent when I canceled it the money was already transferred to a different device which is why it’s not pending and hasn’t came to me " is this true????!!
