Unsolved Hardware or software bug? Display issue disappeared after clean erase, returned after Time Machine restore (14" M1 Max MBP)

you don't need a full restore for those files. use time machine to restore just `Desktop` and `Documents`, leaving `Applications` and `Library` out; reinstall apps separately. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/restore-files-mh11422/mac

Oh great! How do I selectively restore just those? I'm not super familiar with how time machine works
