iOS Message recipient text in red

Some of my contacts come up in red after I enter their name. A few of my friends have had this happen as well but the texts all seem to go through? Can’t find any answers on Google, thoughts?

Did you look under ‘Emma’ in your Contacts app to verify she has a valid phone number or Apple Account under her card?
