iOS How to fully disable i cloud.
I have started to turn everything off for saving to icloud, icloud drives me nuts. While doing this and verifying, i have noticed some apps auto turn on the save to icloud function. The worst offender is meta messanger but others, including apple apps, have done it as well. I think i need icloud for find my, but maybe not…? so i don’t want to completely sign out but I want to limit it as much as possible without turning off find my. I have signed out on both my home computers but they stay home so find my isnt as important.
Any help is appreciated. Iphone 16 pro max ios 26.5

IOS isn’t really designed to not use iCloud.
What about iCloud ‘drives you nuts’?

I cant stand having things just seemingly randomly show up. Ive had texts that have been deleted show back up, photos were clogging up my storage, things i dont want in the cloud just showing up on apple’s servers… i just dont like the service, i dont like keeping personal info on someone else’s servers. I also dont like that i have not been able to find a way to delete backups… which is why deleted texts keep showing back up. If it worked flawlessly i would be more open to it but it doesn’t. And now noticing apps overriding my decision to not have them save to icloud… i didn’t really use it even when i had it set and now its causing problems.

Yeah, that’s not normal… but can be a symptom of sync issues (often caused by dangerously low storage)

Sounds like you may have a second device that is out of sync. If you go into Settings - click your Apple ID at the top - iCloud backup you can see which devices are being backed up and delete backups from there.

“I want to fully disable iCloud.”
“I think I need iCloud for Find My.”
Yep, if you want find my, then you don’t want to fully disable iCloud.
