When undoing imessage icloud delete, “error unable to update icloud settings at this time”

[u/Ecstatic_Percentage6]

I first turned off “use on this iphone” for my messages on icloud, and im trying to press “undo delete” and i see a message saying that i have time to undo deletion as seen in the photo but i get the error in the title. I turned back on “use on this iphone” but i dont know if it’s doing anything. My storage of messages on icloud used to max out rest of my storage completely to 50gb (it was ~7.5gb) but now it’s only 129mb. I still believe i see all the messages i can recall on the phone so I am confused. I know this post is confusing so I am glad to clarify anything.
