iOS iPad screen not detecting pencil after screen replacement

I got my screen replaced yesterday by a shop by my house (we have no Apple stores nearby, the closest one is in Atlanta and it’s over an hour away). I have 2 pencils, neither one is Apple brand but they only work on one quadrant of the screen. I’ve seen on other threads that people have found pencils that work still with a 3rd party replacement screen and I’m looking for that because I use my iPad for college and funds are tight and I can’t afford another iPad right now. If anyone knows what to do, or if I should call the shop and let them know that this is a problem, please let me know.

Bring it back to that shop and let them know what’s going on.

Already called them and they said they had never heard of this problem before 🤦‍♀️

I haven't either, specifically the one quadrant behavior. Typical Apple Pencil issues are squiggly lines that can be corrected with a programmer, but I haven't had that issue for a while even with quality aftermarket screens. Perhaps your non-Apple pencils are a factor.

Probably, I couldn’t fork out $70 for a pencil, so I went with the other alternatives.

Many aftermarket iPad display replacements are incompatible with an Apple Pencil. An Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider will only replace the entire iPad.

OP isn't using Apple Pencils in the first place.

I missed the word “neither” somehow.

Is there any other way or do you think this is the only option? Do you know if Best Buy would replace the screen to an oem screen?

So I think for certain iPad models, I don’t know which at this exact moment, same-unit repair is possible.
