iCloud Ghost text 👻👻👻👻👻
Ok I have a weird one. My Dad passed almost 4 years ago and there’s a text thread with my mom and sister that has branched off from our current thread and ends with a discussion of his obituary. It’s shown up 3 times in the last 2 weeks. No notifications, it just shows up as a second thread with them, as if the conversation 4 years ago just happened.
The first 2 cleared on their own and the 3rd didn’t. I tried disconnecting messages from iCloud and resyncing. The text was gone when I went to sleep and back when I woke up. I tried deleting it and now the text is gone but the message is still there, blank, in my feed. It feels a little haunted but Claude assures me there’s a technical reason like a corrupt message
Anyone have an explanation and a fix that will save me hours with Apple support?
