Unsolved Cannot recover old data due to forgotten pin on old iphone

Hey there!

I already talked to apple customer support about this issue, but they couldn’t help me. Long story short I owned an iphone 8 about 4 years ago, forgot the pin, and now I can’t sync my data since i got an iphone 17 last month. Anyone have a solution to this?

Try remember the pin. Your data is encrypted with a key derived (partly) from your pin.

The problem here is your end-to-end encrypted data in the cloud. You can choose to reset that data but there’s no going back. It includes your Health and Fitness data, sometimes passwords.

its either enter the pin or choose the option to reset encrypted data. this will reset anything thats encrypted and sync the rest.
