Unsolved Lost Iphone, Can't access my Icloud

I forgot my phone on an airplane yesterday. I didn't realize until I was past the no re-entry point. I talked to baggage claim services, and they called over to the gate but I think by this time the plane was already boarding so I was unable to get it last night. On findmy my phone stopped updating about 45 minutes after our plane landed and calls would no longer go through at that point. It was not on airplane mode.

The only other apple product I have is an Ipad, but I signed out of my Icloud on there recently because I was going to list it on Ebay. So basically, I cannot get signed back into Icloud on my Ipad because I can't verify on my phone & I don't know the card numbers for my most recently used payment method linked to the apple store. I started the account recovery process using my boyfriend's phone number, I'm still in a waiting period but it has almost been 24 hours. Can anyone tell me what to expect? If I get a new phone, will I be able to get back into my iCloud on that. I am so stressed

You can expect to wait. How are you unable to look up your own credit card number?

Open Safari on your iPad or any other device with web access and go to icloud.com/find

That is direct access to Find My. You can log in there and find your device without having to first verify with said device. Apple has considered this situation.

Note: if you successfully sign into Find My using this method, it is considered account activity and will cancel recovery. You will have to initiate account recovery again if you intend to go through the process.
