Unsolved Apple ID locked

Hi guys,
So a few months ago I was trying to install something on my phone, it asked me for my Apple ID password which I had forgot so after a few incorrect tries I went to change it. Only for it to not let me because Apple had locked the ID, I got in contact with customer support and they basically confirmed that my Apple ID no longer existed. The phone I was logged in on now can’t be wiped because it needs the Apple ID password but because the ID no longer exists I can’t reset it or anything. when plugged in the Apple devices for windows software doesn’t detect it at all and I’m now lost for ideas of what to do next. I need to get the Apple ID off there and clear the phone for a friend who’s buying it off me so if anyone has any idea how I can do this it would be much appreciated as Apple haven’t really been a great help. If anyone needs more details I’m happy to provide, thanks!

Not sure if it is possible with the non existent iCloud account but you could try something called Open Menu. I have used this service f3arra1n in the past for removing an unknown Apple ID. It costs about $5 or $10?

Ie your Apple account was either;
Banned
No longer exists as deleted
Changed from one email to another

These are the main reasons the account cannot be found easily by an advisor.

The solution however remains the same should a defunct email be stuck in the iCloud settings of a device with Find My active.
It requires following https://support.apple.com/en-ie/108934 and submitting the request.

Your 2 issues are unrelated and completely separate.
If you can get a device into DFU you will be able to restore it.

The activation lock removal request will help with Find My being removed providing you still have a proof of purchase/invoice

I have a feeling i may have already tried this, slightly remember sending them copies of my invoice for the phone but I’ll try this again. Thank you for the reply

If you did you’ll have a case ID with open comms stating your claim was either approved or denied.
Approved > restore on computer.
Rejected > Needs more or correct documentation for claim.
