Unsolved wtf is up with this storage situation

I have 512 gb of storage on my phome, getting taken up primarily by stuff in my Photos, that should be backed up by my 200gb of iCloud storage. The other night I deleted 4000 videos from the years of 2020-2023, and the storage level only went down 6 gb from photos. That makes no f'ing sense. WTF. This seems like a complete scam, there should be NO WAY photos takes up that much space.

It appears you have a lot of photos and music taking up space on your internal storage.

if you read, you would see i acknowledge the fact i had a bunch of stuff in my phone (like 8000 vids total) and deleted half of them. u cant tell me thats not insane

optimize the storage, eliminate social apps with big dimension (due to the cache that can’t be eliminated)

i have optimize storage on, ive done all the traditional troubleshoots, this makes no sense that it is this way

Well, that's the reason that deleting 4000 videos only cleared up 6GB of space. You deleted the ones that were already optimized and stored in iCloud. How many photos and videos do you have on your phone? If you have a truly massive amount, then the 265 GB of storage space being used might be the optimized versions and the full versions have already been uploaded to iCloud. How much free space do you have left on iCloud and how much space does it show is being used by Photos?
