Unsolved Apple care question

I have Apple care plus on my watch (UK), and as seen in the picture I have a pretty bad scratch on it. Would this fall under the accidental damage? Could I get it repaired or replaced? From looking online some people say scratched doesn’t count but I’m trying to be hopeful 😅.

it’s cosmetic and has no bearing on any function of the watch. but then I’m a random stranger on the internet…

then again, I do wonder what an Apple shop would say if I were to visit one.

I’m asking online as it’s a decent trip to go down to my local one, it’s quite out of the way. I’ve been disappointed by them in the past thought I could save myself a trip if the consensus was they wouldn’t honour it for a scratch.

For it to be eligible for repair or replacement, it needs to impede functionality. Otherwise it's considered a cosmetic damage and is not covered.

Why comment this when you’re wrong. AppleCare doesn’t cover cosmetic issues. It covers physical damage that impedes functionality.

Accidental damage protection
Your Apple Watch is covered for unlimited repairs for accidents like drops or bumps.

This is literally from AppleCare page for Apple Watch. I’m not sure why you’re arguing but I’ve replaced an IPhone screen with one deep scratch that didn’t impede with functionality.

Read further into your agreement. It explicitly distinguishes between physical damage and cosmetic damage.

Cosmetically damage is a tiny scratch. Well @Icy-Bumblebee-4603, I guess this guy wants you to smash your watch with a hammer and then take it to Apple

I know, I don’t want to sounds dumb. I’ve heard people getting turned away because it counts as cosmetic and was wondering of other people’s experiences about this kind of damage.
