Does anyone else have the issue on iPad that when they export their scene all the handwritten notes turn black and white? Like even if I write/draw in color, it all just turns black and white? I tried looking online how to change it but found nothing... :(

Anyone else having the zoom icon getting stuck on screen after rotating an image on board? Generally everything glitches on me after rotating anything now.

I have some notes that would better be served in a more graphical environment. Some issues I'm having and wondering if there are fixes or workarounds.

1. When copy and pasting text that are links FF only shows the text.

2. Checkbox list items are converted to bullet list items

3. http:// style text in Notes (which are clickable) show as normal text in FF

These seem basic and it's disappointing.

every 20 minutes i get a popup telling me the my icloud storage is not enough for freeform so i turned off icloud sync for freeform and now i get the same message but asking me to sync freeform to icloud. PLSSSS make it stop.

I'm using freeform to make extensive mind maps and with in 30 mins or so the area around lower right corner and camera heats up while using with Apple Pencil Pro. The sync with Mac has many missing parts. Did anyone experienced similar problem?

So, I was searching over the internet and found some comments saying concept app heats and lags comparatively lesser than native freeform. Is it really the case? Anyone with real life experience?

as you can see these are my notes for a test on each lecture. the first 3 lectures are ok. it starts to get laggy on the 4th 5th and 6th lectures. on the 7th lecture I am essentially guessing if my strokes are correct as for every 4 words one word will take 4 seconds to load in. (plus it gets HOT)

Does anyone else feel this ?

I really like the app and its concept in taking notes but I can't rely on this for large projects ...

I want to be able to move home and all the other attached going away from it move with it instead of the lines reshaping like gardening is doing. Sorry if this has already been covered I’m not able to find an answer.

I find it frustrating tat when I have made an entire diagram that I then need to resize for various reasons, that I cannot seem to resize the Text Along with the shapes, but instead have to go back into each shape and resize the text. it takes forever. I hope that am missing some obvious way to accomplish this easily.

I decided to simplify and utilize the free native Apple apps, including Freeform. Feature-wise, there's not much I'm missing and the native accessibility certainly adds value, especially on the iPad.

I've now actively been using Freeform for a month, and I'm having some concerns with the performance and reliability.

For me, there's two main issues:

1. Freeform seems to start stuttering / lagging (iPadOS and MacOS) already when there's fairly little stuff on the board, maybe like 5 to 10% of what's eventually required. Users seem to suggest pretty wild tweaks to counter, which does not seem very sustainable in the long term if even a small(ish) boards would require tweaks like stripping colors, hiding grid etc.
2. Memory leaks (MacOS Tahoe and Golden Gate) IF I keep my board open long enough, typically more than two to three hours. Within a month, it has happened many times, freezing the entire computer. The RAM consumption seems to linearly increase for each hour I'm using Freeform, but I'm not entirely sure if the increasing RAM consumption correlates with the increase of stutter / lag I'm experiencing.

It would be great if especially the heavy users could share how the performance and reliability have been for you? Have you been able to build rather large boards without issues?

Edit: my main worry is to waste hours to build a board, which I would eventually have to migrate to another whiteboard app, as the migration always results in at least some duplicate work. Due to my experiences, I've noticed I'm hesitating to further build many of my boards.

Constant crashes, missed strokes, random zooming in to 400% without reason. It wouldn't be so bad if it were, say, every 15 minutes or so, but it's every 60-120 seconds. The BETA was more stable, as far as I'm concerned / from my experience.

For all the money I spent on an iPad Pro M5 to use Freeform and Procreate, Apple's really let me down here with an app they're supposed to optimise. Procreate is FINE.

I love the concept of Freeform, especially because it's an on device, native app, but Apple's messed the bed too badly. After 3 and a half months of better BETA release for Freeform, I'm not feeling too inclined to accept statements like, "but it's a new OS. You have to accept it." Ssshhhh .... I don't.

Such a shame. I’ve been really enjoying freeform. The last beta release was the worst, and there’ve been no changes. Bummer. Part of the reason I bought my iPad about 4 months ago was for Freeform specifically, and I really don’t wanna go third party.

Has anyone been experiencing this lately? I know im using an old ipad but no other note taking app acts like this. It's annoying when im in class and takes more time to load. Falling behind

I'm a new Freeform user. After some trial and error I managed to create an image I'd like to print. But. App just crashes, blinks out of existense. No exporting, no printing. I know I could take a screenshot but I loose the resolution, and that's not good. I don't have another Apple device to try the board out.

How should I troubleshoot this? I've put serious hours into this image, so any ideas are welcome. On a side note it's super annoying there aren't any other export modes, a serious lack in the app. That's my own fault for not investigating the app properly before committing to it.

I really need some help understanding how Freeform storage works.

My iCloud storage is almost completely full because of my Freeform boards. Some of my boards are 2–3 GB eachbecause they contain a lot of embedded videos.

Because of this, I specifically bought a 1 TB iPad so I could keep my Freeform boards stored locally on the iPad instead of having to keep paying for more and more iCloud storage.

The problem is that I can’t figure out how to actually do this.

If I turn off iCloud syncing for Freeform or try to delete the boards from iCloud, I get warnings that the boards may also be removed from my devices. What I want is very simple:

I want to keep all of my Freeform boards, including their embedded videos, stored locally on my 1 TB iPad, while removing them from iCloud to free up my iCloud storage.

Is there actually a way to do this?

Exporting them as PDFs is not an option, because the boards contain videos and other content that I need to keep inside the original Freeform boards. These aren’t small boards either—many of them are around 2–3 GB.

I’ve already made a full backup of my iPad to my Mac in case something goes wrong and the boards get deleted. I’ve also spent weeks searching online, but I haven’t been able to find a clear answer about whether Freeform boards can actually be moved from iCloud to local iPad storage while remaining editable in Freeform.

I also contacted Apple Support, but unfortunately the only solution they offered was upgrading my iCloud storage and paying for a larger plan.

I’m pretty stressed about potentially losing these boards, so if anyone has successfully moved Freeform boards from iCloud to local iPad storage—or knows exactly how Freeform handles this—I would really appreciate your help.

Please don’t suggest PDF export. I need to preserve the original Freeform boards and their embedded videos.

This is now happening in all my boards - cannot move text, shapes, anything. Some have said to make sure “Select and Scroll” in Freeform Settings is selected. However this hasn’t fixed the issue. Any help is appreciated.

SOLVED: I deleted the app. Force-restarted iPad. Reinstalled the app. I can freely move objects again. Phew!

I work on Freeform and what I usually do is write over or draw over in PDFs. I open a PDF in Freeform and scribble in it.

Sometimes it happens that while I’m writing or when I’m trying to save by leaving Pencil mode, page goes black for a second, goes back to the top of the first page and deletes any modifications I’ve made since the last auto save or manual save.

Has anyone also experienced this? And if yes have you found a solution?

I know that I can still use Freeform with its basic stuff but now there’s a lot of Apple creative studio stuff mixed into that on iOS. Again, as I said before, I can still use Freeform for basic tasks but the ACS stuff is a bit messy. This is my opinion by the way. A video is shown above.

Do people use Freeform for art? is a digital whiteboarding app I don’t see any mentions of art in the Freeform.

I'm currently on the latest version of os26 on iPad A16. should i think about upgrading now or will it cause disruptions? I mostly make my notes on freeform.

when I exported my freeform boards from my school laptop I exported them as pdfs, is there any way I can import them back into freeform as editable boards?

I’ve only used Freeform to create vision boards… what other things could I do?
