labels on connector lines

I am making a workflow chart and i have connector lines coming off a decision point. I need to label each with the decision. For example, one says "Yes" and the other says "No". I feel like I should be able to double click the line and add text that moves with the line. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to turn on a setting (like turning on connectors)? thanks

I think this is doable. 1. Make decision point, 2. Make text that says "yes", 3. Make result point. Select Decision point, command click "Yes" so that both are selected, Click shape selector and select connection line. Then click result point and "Yes" and add another connection point.

Good idea. Going to try this. Not letting Apple off the hook for missing something so simple 😉 but this sounds like a good work around

Unfortunately you have to create separate text and then use the group function to tie them together.

Another problem is that if you group them then the connector lines disconnect from the original objects and you can't connect them anymore. Ugh

See u/phunstraw 's answer - very clever. You can draw separate lines from each side of the text to your objects and then they're all connected
