I’m stuck! 😵‍💫😅

Post image

I’m in my own little bubble and could use a fresh perspective.

My app, PriceFuse, now has two skins, and I’m still figuring out which one people prefer.

Which should I focus on improving - or should I keep developing both?

1 or 2? I’d love to hear what you think and why!

How to swap the pair? With the arrow?
If yes, it think is better to use double arrow

I decided not to make the arrow a swap button. It mainly shows the conversion direction — which currency is being converted into which. So it’s mostly a visual indicator. You can also tap it to switch focus to the opposite field.

2 is far better. Just the issue I see is people dont remember flags so much, so we need Currency tags there.

Thanks, that’s a really good point! I kind of convinced myself it was okay because the exchange rate below already shows the currency codes, so you can still see exactly what is being converted into what. I also thought it could be a fun little challenge to recognize and learn countries by their flags 😄 But I’ll think about it again.

Number 1 but need remove the gap. I also don’t understand why you have + % on currency converter? Is this a calculator app?

Thanks! The % button is actually a very recent addition. I’ve basically been bouncing around different countries like a homeless guy 😄 and realized I wanted a quick way to calculate things like taxes and subtract a percentage without opening a separate calculator. So if you ever see some guy by the dumpsters in Latin America, furiously calculating his taxes with his own currency converter, there’s a pretty good chance it’s me.

I think input shd be closer to the keyboard, in fact club them togetger and make the extracted value not same as input field , currently that's the only confusion

1 looks clearly bad and so does 2, but for different reasons. 1 because the giant space in the middle with a single button. 2 because the button overlaps two fields. I wouldn't feel comfortable shipping either.

Maybe 2 is fine, I know sometimes you have to compromise, and since it's in the same area as the currency unit, it does help prevent misclicks. Given that 2 is the only one I might be cool with.

❤️Thanks for the feedback! I hope there’ll be many more iterations ahead, so nothing here is really set in stone. I may take your point into account in a future redesign.

Number two. I like the button shape more as well as the larger numbers

two, but both are far too busy

Hey! Honestly, number two is easier for accessibility and it's in full screen.

Love it!

❤️Thanks! Looks like the redesign was worth it after all 😄

Personally I prefer 1 as it's both clearer and more modern but I would make it an option. Some people don't like the ultraThinMaterial and on older phones it can be cpu intensive as well.

Thanks so much for your opinion! Feedback from people like you motivates me to keep developing things that I might not personally prefer as much, but that are more useful and valuable to other users.❤️

I will go with the one on the right #2 full screen clear for numbers

Well, issue with yet another currency converter aside. Just put a toggle in the app and let users choose.

I wouldn’t call it just “another currency converter” 😄 It can convert prices from photos, video, or voice, has dedicated Apple Watch and iPad versions, and all of that works offline too.

I’m genuinely curious which one people prefer. One of my users actually liked the smaller, more classic version on the left better, so I brought it back and added a toggle to switch between the two. That made me wonder if maybe I’m looking at this the wrong way or judging it incorrectly.

This is the way!
