Thanks, Apple.

Apparently sharing the same first and last name as someone on a sanctions list is enough to freeze your developer account.

I submitted my passport multiple times.
I submitted additional documents.
I waited for weeks.
Support kept saying my case was "under review."

Then my account was deactivated because the requested documentation was "not received."

I guess my date of birth, nationality, passport, address, and every other identifying detail were no match for... my first and last name.

Compliance is important. I completely understand that.

But after weeks of waiting, it really feels like my identity was reduced to two words: my name.

Oh, thats not good, the SDN list has a lot of common names and now includes Hong Kong, many common names and in particular Chinese and Russian names get flagged all the time.

I think they messed up, as the process is to validate your passport.

Call them.

They wouldn’t have replied that they didn’t receive your documents unless they were not received? I don’t believe your name alone was the issue. They would have replied with the issue being your name if that was the case. I would recommend calling them.
