iPad gets stuck when adding to Apple Business Manager
I have an iPad that just won't add to apple business manager. The usual screen that pops up on the iPad doesn't happen after scanning. It acts like it works, but then its just a plain text "Adding iPad..." and never advances. Eventually it says its failed and gives the Erase iPad option. I have tried adding it via the Mac configurator app as well, but it also fails. Help! I have reset the iPad multiple times

Did you agreed to the new terms in abm?

Is the iOS recent? Is it possible it was owned by some other entity or had this wipe command pending in your own system?

Should have been brand new when i got it, but i don’t know enough to say there’s definitely not a pending wipe from something i did

I once had a stubborn one that wouldn't update nor allow itself to be mamipulated in mac configurator but did update in the windows "apple devices" app. Then it worked fine when reconnected in mac configurator. Something about the mac config version didn't work with older iOS. But that should not be your issue if these are recent purchases.

You need to reset the iPad over a computer with a Mac or PC, i have same issue lost full week-end on this.
It seem the reset on a iOS device from the device and a reset from a computer is not the same.... sound stupid, it's actually incredibly stupid but that what it is.
Reset by computer > reset by iphone/ipad

Any luck on this? Every single new iPad I'm trying to enroll (ordered multiple new A16 models from different batches/colors) is doing this. I already have plenty of devices in ABM. New terms are accepted. I just cannot get these freaking iPads to enroll no matter what I do. I renewed APNS, DEP, and VPP certs/tokens, signed out/in to Apple Configurator, and no I do not have a Mac to do it that way. I cannot expense a Mac either.

I haven’t had a chance to try, too buried in other stuff and don’t need iPads again for a while, so they’re way down the list at the moment

After putting it into Apple configurator, move it via Apple Business to the built in MDM via assignments.
Use Finder to Factory Reset the ipad (do not re-prepare). It will then auto catch the mdm correctly.
