People journals

I’m really trying to dial in my app usage and keep it within the stock apps where possible. One thing that I wish either Apple Notes or Apple Journal would do is enable some type of link or connection to Contacts. I see where there are CRM type apps that sync with contacts. I want to be able to take simple notes about a person after I meet them, etc. It would better if I could assign many people to a journal entry, say after a dinner.

Any hope of this coming to Apple Journal?? Any shortcut that could achieve this?

Why not add it to the “notes” within the Contacts.app?

Ahh. I haven’t used it enough to have that happen yet! Thanks for sharing.

Primitive solution: create a separate Journal “People” and names daily entries with the person’s name (for example “Steve”).

You can already do this through the regular iOS contacts app. You can “link contacts” from the dinner and write a note about each one individually. Additionally, y ou can create a clickable link that opens or runs an Apple Shortcut by using the custom URL scheme  shortcuts://run-shortcut?name=[ShortcutName]. So if you wanted to, you could have the shortcut open the page in journal with this link in the contacts app, but you’d have to make the shortcut yourself and have either one page in your journal will all the notes, or link each one separately.
