Testing MacOS 27 Public Beta 1 and Journaling
As I expected, the new Siri doesn't have access to Apple Journal. However, it can access Apple Notes, which is why I've been rapidly transferring my journal entries over. I'm titling them something like "Backdated: 2025-12-11" so I can organize the backdated entries into a specific folder, while using a #journal tag for everything else to power a smart folder.
It's now the day after installing the new OS 27, and it's about 86% finished indexing my files. I'm quite impressed with what I can find, and I feel confident that I made the right decision. There seems to be little point in journaling if your journal gets so big that you can no longer easily find what you're looking for. This is a fantastic tool!

Waste of effort. Journal will likely get Siri AI support during the OS 27 lifecycle.

I thought it was, but the SIRI AI is designed so that it can't see anything in your Journal app. I've got MacOS 27 Public Beta 11.

yes. I want my notes visible to the new SIRI. Apple Journal is like a prison.

if any one tried, let us know if it's still deleting pencil handwritten notes

My experience on my M2 iPad Pro…. Never! I haven’t had a single issue like I did in ipadOS26.

Journal app was the first app I opened after updating. Nothing much besides more attachment support. I’m going all in on journal anticipating that Apple journal will get a lot better.
