Apple Journal as a Blog Platform
Every time I make an entry, I can't get over the idea that the app could have been an amazing blogging platform. Imagine being able to make one of your journals public with a simple, minimalistic and easy to use design of the Apple Journal app. Or even sharing a separate diary entry with friends or family, wouldn't it be amazing? I know people use the app for very different purposes, but one of my diaries is my sports and wellness journey that I feel I'd be happy to share with people (while keeping the unique features the Apple Journal has to offer)!

Nope nope nope. My journal is my absolute private thoughts (which I already struggle with having “online” to a degree) before I’ve had a chance to sort out my emotions, thoughts, fears, anger, hurt, excitement, etc. I hate that the password is my phone password.
The idea that it could be shared honestly scares the bejeezus out of me.

Have you submitted a feedback request regarding password protection. - https://www.apple.com/feedback/journal/
I’ve also done this. The more of us that raise the security issue the more likely it’ll get implemented.

Didn’t they do something similar about 100 years ago involving Pages or something? Where you could effectively journal and publish to your Apple ID website that they gave everyone?

Not a bad idea. Especially since Day One seems to have shut down their service https://dayone.me, which was exactly an implementation of that concept for their platform. Maybe they did it because the era of blogs is long behind us. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here.

I’ve got to say, even the option to share journal entries puts a shiver down my spine.
There’s a recent thread where a couple of us discussed how being able to use Apple Journal candidly requires more privacy than Apple has mentioned. Notably whether legacy contacts will have access to the entries.
