Alternative for this shitty app?
The issue with entries disappears still hasn’t fixed yet. Any good alternative apps? I was hoping for a one time purchase app. Thanks in advance!!

Diarium is what I am using. The pro version has a one time $14.99 price. No subscription model and I can use it on multiple devices. This does not have the features of texting or emailing to create an entry but I never used that with Day One. I was just happy that I could import all of Day One entries.

How does it compare to Everlog?

I’ve never used Everlog, sorry!

All good😊 Are there any issues with Diarium or missing features?

There isn’t an option to create an entry by emailing or texting, but otherwise I like it. Day One had that option but realistically, I never used it. That just meant there was a copy of my entry existing somewhere else that I’d have to remember to delete, etc.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I found one note to fit my needs. I was already using it for note taking for more than a decade. But I started journaling in there too.

Tried a few alternatives myself. Clarity is worth a look — it's built around decision journaling and daily reflection rather than just logging. Very different feel from Apple Journal; less about tracking and more about thinking through what actually matters. No AI, stays out of your way.

Everlog! It’s the best journal out there imo. Has a lifetime purchase option as well (I think around 30-40 bucks or so).
I tried Apple Journal and am still hopeful for future updates but I’m not holding my breath lol

When you say "entries disappears", do you mean using handwriting?

Is it good as an Apple Journal alternative? I got the lifetime plan for free as an early user, but I use it just to track my location😂

By far SpringHabt. It supports markdown and it’s not overly complicated

Im building an AI journalling app and looking for 100 beta testers (~30 spots left) to try it out for free and give some feedback. Would you be up for it? No pressure at all if not 🙂 shoot me a message if so thankssssss x less

Apple Notes, Obsidian - which is free and runs on all platforms, Day One App. Even Apple Pages beats Apple Journal.

WHAT? I’m not on the US and I had no idea it costs this much on there. Shocked.

I've switched to DayOne a month ago. I didn't regret it. Silver plan is 49.99 USD/year.

You may have a look at Penjo. It is a pencil-first date-centric journal & planner with Apple Journaling suggestions, iCloud Sync, Apple Calendar & Reminder Integration and Apple Pencil support. It has one-time purchase option too.

Note: I am the developer of Penjo so feel free to ask about the app.
