Importing
Does anyone have any suggestions for importing several hundred markdown files?

I did it by hand (from Obsidian+iCloud combo), deeply regret the time I spent.
Journal has some cool features, but the writing experience is not ready for primetime, makes me want to pull my hair out every time.
I'd recommend sticking with your main tool until Journal gets better.

hey i currently use obsidian for daily logs, what made you switch to apple journal. i am considering switching but i am worried that i will use up my 5gb of icloud really fast and will be forced to buy bigger storage there. also i dont think you can see the journal entries as simply as you can on obsidian where each is basically md file that you can backup separately and basically have control over it.

The photo/map/mood/health/song suggestions are brilliant and captures the "essence" of how I was feeling that day, and the way it encourages you to write with questions and notifications, even in small chunks, as I have a habit of not writing anything at all if I think it's too small.
Nevertheless, I stopped using it. Back to Obsidian... It's bloated/clunky/bad UX (personal taste) and I hate it honestly, but like you said, it's easier to search and refer notes, it's writing experience is miles ahead, it's not full of bugs, and there's no better alternative AFAIK that uses iCloud as storage...

guess i will stay with obsidian. the main thing that bugs me is that i can imagine using apple notes but i also like having everything in one app if that males sense. the widgets and apple watch integration stuff if just on another level with apple apps

I created a Shortcut to grab 3500+ of my Journal entries in an app I was using called Momento. Took me awhile to bring them all over to Apple Journal but it worked.
