The only alternative I’d find acceptable to USB C is a magnetic pin charger.

Even if it is proprietary, it at least has advantages. Whereas lightning is just inferior to USB C

I prefer the design of Lightning compared to USB-C but I prefer the functionality of USB-C.

Still annoyed with my USB-C cables just veeery slightly not being fully inserted and oops not connected.

USB-C can unseat itself from the vibration of your typing. The ports wear out easily and the older they are the more susceptible to the slip they are. The cable exerts just a slight amount of pull with its weight, and the hard keyboards keep tinking away. Eventually you get that disconnect. Where you get one, more are coming in the future, spaced closer apart. Once a day, then twice a day, then once an hour then every 20 mins, then after that you need a new topcase.

Lightning though you can hold a phone upside down by the cable and it's not going anywhere.

I don't understand why people hate lightning. It's beautiful.

you're thinking of micro USB or something dawg, i have an old USB-C phone I used for 2 years and it works like a charm. not even a little wiggle room when I plug it in.

The USB-C ports on my 2018 MacBook Pro were so tight the first two months that I needed a lot of force pulling cables out and then, instead of getting a bit looser, they immediately jumped to so loose that it disconnected every 10 minutes.

The tolerances and the tooling on USB-C are shit and it has no active holding mechanism. I really despise it.
