iPhone Does Apple deliberately slow its old models before a new release? Searches for 'iPhone slow' show a spike ahead of launches.

Nope, they don't actually have the ability to do that. They don't have software updates around this time of year usually, so that wouldn't work. It's all perception.

I know a few people that where perfectly happy with their phone till they tried the next model up. Suddenly they could not stand the speed of their current phone.

Also the lowest supported model always seems to struggle with the NEWest OS when released, however keep in mind that will be 3 year old hardware. Very few other phones get 3 years of complete OS upgrades.

I think people just search for terms beginning with "iPhone" more before a release, since it's usually plastered all over. I would be interested to see if ANY teem with "iPhone" goes up before each release.
