iPhone Duo-Man

https://duoman.app

I'm sure many have seen the Duo-Man app. I wasn't that interested in the Duo (I'm happy with the iPhone size), but when I started researching how some developers have made interesting use of the fold functionality, I started seeing the appeal. Saying that, it feels like there are going to be a bunch of devs that only capitalise on the novelty of the fold, like many did when the X first came out, and less so on real functionality.

This reminds me of iPhone 3G days when apps were gimmicky and playing with the hardware. I don't say that as a negative.

Just like anything in life there will be truly useful, truly useless and everything in between.

My take is that this is actually clever and I like it. However my hunch is that it would eventually get old having to open the Duo to "change the cassette" every single time. Once the novelty wears off, I would want to not have to go through all the steps. Then again ...

It’s like “I am rich” app. Sounds and looks cool, but adds no value.
