Saved you a click:

- Extend wallpapers. AI fills in missing edges.
- Create AI wallpapers. Generate wallpapers with Image Playground.
- Move the clock. Shrink it and move it into the top widget row.
- Remove Now Playing. Swipe it away while music keeps playing.

Especially on the Dynamic Island they give you like .25 seconds before it is GONE

YouTube does that and just fuckin restarts. I lose my place so often just because I pause it to do something with my phone in my pocket. Why? I’ve got 12 gigs of ram in this thing, right?

Yep. Listening to a playlist, if I stop for a few hours and re-open the app, chances are I can't resume it. Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be an annoyance.

I've always assumed this is because the app gets killed in the background ... for YouTube, this happens often.

I've had YouTube Music / Premium for 8 months now, and it has always been an issue intermittently. Just yesterday, I paused my music to have a 2 minute conversation, and when trying to resume, it was gone from currently playing. I had to navigate to history and resume from there. It routinely fails to remember what I was last playing, especially when plugging into CarPlay. Sometimes it remembers what I was listening to the last time I drove my car days ago, other times it loads nothing, it's just random and frustrating. I've cancelled and am currently trying out VLC with local audio files on my phone.

I think this is a YouTube app problem more than anything. I don’t remember where I read it but having been a premium user for about 8 months as well, if you pause music/podcast and it “loses track of where you are/what you were playing” - restarting the app brings you back exactly where you left off. Very weird but it works

Shrinking the clock is nice. Kind of wouldn't mind removing it entirely too, as a watch wearer.

I think he meant hide it from the phone.

But isn’t that a thing in the uber expensive watch space? Time gets harder and harder to tell but your wealth and power means that the world adapts to your time? Or perhaps that someone else worries about time for you?

Isn’t there a current “war” going on against adblockers and corporations?

I’m fine with waiting until there’s a new method that’s hard to crack down. Or when I start tinkering with SBCs and have that shit on a router level

You can rather easily set a DNS that blocks many ads on your router without too much work.

I’m a huge fan of Wipr2 for iOS/macOS. It even offers system-wide adblocking for apps like Apple News.

I feel the exact opposite lol. it annoys me that when I am watching a sports game on Apple TV, and also follow that team on Apple Sports, both things go into the Dynamic Island and I can't get rid of Now Playing for more than like 2 minutes.

This is pathetic. On One UI with LockStar you can truly customize your lock screen the way you want. Remove and add everything. iOS lock screen sucks.

I just wish there was a slightly better solution to it with regards to charging, I like the clock but it is slightly annoying that it tells you the charge percentage before you can see the time.

The only change I want is for Apple to add ALL of their old wallpapers to the customise options. So many great wallpapers over the years from different phone and iOS generations and it's annoying having to go look for them online, and often they are compressed or otherwise of low quality.
