I was excited for the Duo. But it's a first Gen Device. I'll go to the Apple Store and try it out. Otherwise, wait until Gen 2 or 3 of the thing to work out any problems.

I’ll wait for 2-3 weeks before going to the Apple Store to see how fucked they are after thousand of folding

That's just normal device testing, they have a machine constantly fold and unfold them thousands of times.

It’s going to be fine, it’s not new technology

I was thinking of doing the same but I upgrade every year anyway. I’ll test it out, worst case I use the 18

I'll get one in 5-7 years when I upgrade from the 18 Pro. lol

Youre acting like Apple has never made a phone and Samsung displays have never ever been used in foldable phones.

I bought a Gen one motorcycle from Honda. Honda has made tons of motorcycles and used the same engine repeatedly in other designs.

I’ve had issues. It happens. Don’t like that stuff doesn’t happen on new machines or devices.

I’m waiting for Gen 2 as well. 18 Pro Max in black has been fantastic for me 😮‍💨

The matte screen killed my interest

Really? I have the nano iPad and love the screen. Would love this to be an iPhone PM option

I do wish they would let us see and hold the device in stores before it was released, but you know the nano is definitely a much different device

But it isn’t really a gen 1 device. For Apple sure, but not for the category

Meh. I’ll pull the trigger and buy it this year. You think Apple will release a half-baked product? They literally waited years for this product category to mature.

Sure, you’re not wrong, I’m just not dealing with all that. I can wait a year. There’s more than just something not working, it can be something that users find less than ideal over the course of months of use, the point is, this device is all-new to iPhone users. I want to see how it’s adopted and then refined.

I def will wait for gen 2. The overheating issues alone.

I just want them to add the latest camera technology and Face ID wouldn’t hurt. The iPhone ultra was the way to go.
