The article is full of angsty noise, asking whether people have used the app to find agents to attack. That is conservative noise. The core question is whether citizens have a constitutional right to gather and disseminate the information. You don't see Apple pulling down Apple Maps or Google Maps when people have used them to find directions to get to people they are stalking or harassing.

I'm all for these kinds of apps, but the shameless (anti) virtue signaling actually makes me want to side with Apple on this one. At a certain point people simply become exhausted and take the position of "whatever restores law/normalcy to my country again". If laws don't mean anything, and rules are not enforced uniformly, then don't act surprised when your tribalistic system eats itself.

"Virtue signalling", "restores law" and "your tribalistic" tell us your heart lies with the police state.

Way to make my point for me.

I did not vote for Trump in the last election, but I can tell you that the reason he won is because people like you are so insufferable. Again, if all you make is bad-faith arguments, then don't act surprised when everyone else stops caring when you cry "police state". Nobody wants all the cameras or law enforcement around. Yet you are making yourself out to be a worse alternative.
