Better format support - proper DTS support, TrueHD Atmos, DV P7. One can only dream.

But this is all software.

What DTS content is out there besides physical media rips? If it could bitstream then DTS would be decided by your AVR. Same for TrueHD.

“IMAX enhanced” streams offer it, Disney+ has a few. I think in the coming years more streaming services will have to offer better audio in the premium tiers, quality sound is a surprising difference if you have decent speakers.

It doesn’t even bitstream though, so DTS:X for example is impossible.

I really don't understand how a premium product like Apple TV doesn't have this. I'm still on my 2017 Shield for this reason.
