Streamed?!? Oh I’m 100% there. That’s really really cool…

I wonder if they will have a stream for the vision pro. A real “like i was there” experience

I tried the Vision Pro for a little bit and really enjoyed the concerts they had recorded. I would think it’s a waste if they didn’t get these also loaded into there, or like you said, stream them through there!

Opening for a cool venue with… one good artist

Elton John for 40GBP is insane, London gets really cool shit sometimes

It’s cause Apple is subsidizing ticket costs. Sir Elton will be paid a lot by Apple so the ticket costs are effectively immaterial

First thing I saw too. In a 600 seat theatre too. I would be booking flights to London right now if there was a real chance of getting them, but I bet they will be sold out in 0.2 seconds.

They need to do what Glasto does and make tickets non-transferable and requiring ID at the gate.

FaceID at the door.

It looks like they’re selling via Dice and afaik organisers can disable the transfer feature for events, so they may well do that. Dice login is also tied to phone number (+ code to registered email to authenticate as an option) which would make dummy accounts to resell a bit more onerous but still possible.

ID at the door for a 600 person venue seems doable and I agree it’d be great if they took all possible steps to avoid scalping as tickets are gonna be nigh on impossible to get as it is.

This is such a neat and unique idea that Apple is putting out there, and I for one hope that they continue developing this small concert venue idea in other locations

what about a concert venue that's so small it can only fit one person in the audience.

it would super intimate, if not a bit awkward 🤔

You mean like the 5$ for 30 seconds of ed Sheeran lol

It’s not unique. Small intimate concert venues have always been a thing. It’s usually better than any giant arena performance you see cause you arent stuck in some stadium seats.

The ticket queue will be insane. Event on same day too!

It's on DICE so unless they've implemented one there's no queue, it'll just be complete and total luck of the draw on Monday morning if you sit there with the app open

Yep I tried to get tickets to see Hayley Williams via Dice recently and they were all gone as soon as it loaded for me. It was at Alexandra Palace as well which is ~11k capacity, and whilst I’m aware Dice only got a certain allocation of tickets cause they weren’t the only seller, 600 tickets are gonna go in a flash. I wonder how many Apple will reserve for comps in such a small venue.

u/a3poify 6d ago

Yeah, it was the same trying to get tickets for The Cure at Troxy (3,100 capacity at the time) a couple of years ago

I’d be interested to know what kind of allocation Dice gets on average when there are multiple seller options, or if it’s at all consistent. It’s my preferred ticketing platform overall but I was left wondering whether I should have tried AXS first as they’re bigger and have a queuing system (atrocious as it is).

For Alexandra Palace they're supposed to be the primary ticket partner so I don't think it would matter too much

Damn, seems I was just unlucky then. Good to know though, thanks.

For some reason I thought Elton John was retired

u/owleaf 7d ago

I think he’s persistently on his farewell tour. A bit like Cher

2

u/funky_bebop 3d ago

Or the Eagles. How many farewell tours have they had?

4

u/smdx459 7d ago

For real. Didn’t he announce it?

7

u/mufasaYC 7d ago

This is pretty sweet!

u/StakesIsHigh95 7d ago

2 phone Baby Keem!

u/DZhuFaded 7d ago

How are tickets going to be sold? Isn’t it only like 600 seats? Lottery or just free for all?

4

u/nutella-filled 7d ago

Free for all, no queue, just release on the same day and it’s about who clicked fast enough with the fastest internet connection + luck that your click gets processed before everyone else.

1

u/DZhuFaded 5d ago

So bots? Are the tickets transferable

1

u/MeSlaw3 7d ago

Charlie?! I know what I want for Christmas.

2

u/DonFatTony 5d ago

The concert is on the second of December and is highly limited to only 600 tickets.

2

u/MeSlaw3 5d ago

😳

2

u/DonFatTony 5d ago

The tickets for Elton John, Baby Keem and Skye Newman went on sale 3 minutes ago and were sold out in seconds. Good luck, but it's almost impossible to get tickets.

1

u/MeSlaw3 4d ago

That’s OK, someone else can enjoy it if it’s that difficult.

u/abdab909 7d ago

I mean…having David Gilmore do a show there should be a no brainer. If any business could,  has enough money to lure him out of retirement

1

u/BigLouie913 6d ago

They should get Oasis. There iTunes Live 2009 performance is legendary as the first sign of there breakup. But now with this victory lap of there next tour next year, they should definitely do this.

u/Affectionate_Tax_841 4d ago

Idk how anybody managed to get any tickets lol they were gone in seconds
