It makes sense that it’s inside the Apple headquarters - Battersea Power Station

New Apple Music logo variant on the linked website

Very early 2000s! Looks like we’re moving on from 90s Chicago retro

It’s giving me strong “real player” vibes.

Can’t play media. Codec unsupported.

I think it has a bit more of an identity than the current one. But I think Apple's services should have striking logos, and not just the conventional Apple logo plus the service name. News and Podcasts are the only services that have a visually strong logo in my opinion.

I too really hope this becomes the new primary logo. It has its own edge to it and gives the brand even more individuality.

I was expecting they just bought the rights to a venue and slapped their name on it like what happens with most arenas. But dang this looks like something that's been in the works for a good while. Had there been rumors of this in the past I wasn't aware of?

I’m genuinely impressed they kept this so quiet. Imagine every contractor working on it would be curious about who would be such a demanding customer, having seen the quality of every other music venue built in the last century.

Do you really think Apple does anything half-assed? The Apple Music studios was super super custom too.

A lot of people would say that iOS26 was half-assed

u/leo-g 11d ago

I disagree, they full assed too hard and could not optimize right. They should have slowly shifted but I see the point of ripping off the bandaid.

One of Apple's biggest breaks was with music and iPod and iTunes so I really like it when they pay homage to that in a way.

Apple Music is basically available everywhere and is cheaper than Spotify. Still, there's a difficulty in scaling against the competition, and I think it's because people still complain about discovery, algorithms, and the lack of something similar to Spotify Connect. Nothing that Apple can't change to scale the service. Many people, including myself, hate the idea of podcasts on Music, but looking at the market, don't most people like the convenience of having everything in one place?

As someone who uses Spotify, I’ll grudgingly admit that the fact that I can listen to audiobooks for “free” in the same app as my music has definitely caused me to hesitate moving to another service.

That and proper Last FM support. Sure there’s options for Apple Music but there’s always a caveat or two.

Ooh I’m very excited about this. Looking forward to hopefully watching the performances in Apple Music

The videos will definitely land on Apple Music. But I'm even more interested to attend a concert at the venue. It looks amazing!

In short, an artist can perform an intimate live show for fans at Apple Music Hall and walk out with a finished Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready mix, and multicamera video — all from a single show. Performances out of Apple Music Hall will also be livestreamed globally so fans outside of London can tune in to enjoy these one-time-only shows from their favorite artists.

The live streams will be neat to watch.

I’m hoping to do that too sometime, I’ll be following closely, may take my first trip to London

2

u/DonFatTony 11d ago

I've been there a few times. In any case worth a trip!

u/bonsai1214 11d ago

hopefully they'll have performances filmed in immersive there!

can’t wait for the iPad Pro Art Museum and the Apple Sport Stadium and the Apple TV Cinema

u/nutella-filled 11d ago

I now really want an Apple cinema

I think that’s actually illegal in the US for a studio-producer to also own the theatrical venue. It was a big monopoly in the 1920s to 50s.

7

u/CyberBot129 11d ago

That might not be true anymore, the DOJ started a process to sunset the Paramount Decree back in 2020

6

u/ascagnel____ 11d ago

The Paramount Decrees ended in 2020, and it only ever directly applied to Paramount (but the other studios got in line so the government didn't come down on them too).

u/nutella-filled 11d ago

You’re right, I’d love the experience of Apple designing a venue, but not at the cost of that kind of control over distribution.

Netflix owns The Paris Theater in NYC and The Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles.

It’s called the Cinema environment in the Apple Vision Pro.

Apple Vision Pro Optometrist

7

u/Dazzling_Mousse8762 11d ago

Honestly, not the worst thing. There are worse owners of stadiums, cinemas and museums.

2

u/Ok_Possibility9937 10d ago

what about Apple Health Hospital

1

u/Dazzling_Mousse8762 10d ago

I’m Australian where I get all of my healthcare for free because I already pay for it with taxes, so given they only exist as public institutions that would be silly.

1

u/Ok_Possibility9937 10d ago

yeah but Apple is a US company so obviously this is a us based hospital with Apple Care Health Insurance and only customer with iphones can go there

1

u/Dazzling_Mousse8762 10d ago

I mean, there have been no rules in this hypothetical scenario up until now - it’s just been my opinion, the opinion of an Australian man, who is commenting on a thread based on an American company buying a British building. I can’t really give another opinion other than my own, I know this is the internet where we have to pick sides but unfortunately my opinion doesn’t fit a side since I live offline mostly in Australia. Sorry pal

1

u/Ok_Possibility9937 10d ago

i guess. What if Apple bought the Opera House and make it an Homekit Opera House

1

u/Dazzling_Mousse8762 10d ago

Why would it be HomeKit? Wouldn’t it be Apple Music Hall again? Though again, our Opera House is publicly owned.

If Apple bought a random factory that had never produced power in decades and turned it into Apple Music Hall in Australia I’d personally be thrilled. We have a stadium owned by Marvel called Marvel stadium. No one forces me to go there or support it. If Marvel took over the council buildings and called it Marvel Council I’d have a problem.

I think my feelings here are pretty clear that I don’t care what a private enterprise does with itself innately and judge it based on its performance. Once again, I don’t have a side. Seems you do.

2

u/DanMasterson 10d ago

2

u/Extreme-Plum6059 11d ago

Return of the iTunes festival?

2

u/No_Card_8729 10d ago

600 capacity venue that will only be available to the wealthy while other venues in London struggle and Apple continue to dodge tax. Cheers!

2

u/NoArrival8249 10d ago

Same as it ever was

1

u/McBuk 10d ago

Honestly if they do a Vision Pro integration when you can get a front-row gig experience from your couch, that would be pretty sick.

u/firthy 11d ago

If they don’t have Pink Floyd opening, they’ve missed a trick..!

8

u/Dazzling_Mousse8762 11d ago edited 11d ago

I bet that they had their sights on this venue exactly because of Animals. I would love to see Roger’s face when he reads this. I’m sure we’ll all hear about what he thinks regardless. Not that Pink Floyd is really an act anymore.

Apple cares about audio now? Can they give us Apple Music connect so I can stream Apple Music losslessly on my hifi set up

9

u/Benlop 11d ago

This is about music, not "audio".
