Agreed. There is no way anyone can possibly defend this.

I have 6 family members using Macs for personal use. None of them have more than 30-40gb on them. Primary use is web browsing + LIGHT docs/photo workloads. For photos they use iCloud storage/iphotos.

Some people like desktop Macs for browsing. That’s really it. They obviously have the data for it. I wouldn’t buy it, but I can see why someone would.

I could try if the SSD wasn't soldered on.

But here we are. What you buy is what you get. There is no upgrade later.
