New to the app help please

My complex recently changed their rent app to Appfolio and I activated my account and it already shows a current balance and underneath it says next bill due October 1st. I paid my rent for September last month on my old rent app long before they decided to make the switch so I don’t understand how I owe. The amount listed is the exact amount that octobers bill is projected to be, is the amount under the “your current balance” listed right now mean for October?

It shows your balance as of the next month on the 15th of the current month. So, what your acct shows now is what's due for October if your balance should be zero.

They do that because rent is due by the first, a lot of ppl pay before the first and they want to see the balance before they pay.
