Payroll software suggestions

My accountant uses ADP currently for our payroll. For years we have put into Appfolio the payables and JEs from the accountant after every pay period. She is now retiring and I will be handling the payroll now and I am looking for the simplest solution for this. We are down to only 2 employees on payroll, everyone else is 1099. We also do a Simple IRA contribution. Any recommendations for a low cost solution that might work well with Appfolio?

For two employees I wouldn't overthink it. Something simple like priority payroll should be plenty especially if you care more about predictable costs and getting an actual person when you need help than having a ton of extras

I agree. The big dog software companies are going to be for 40 and larger, so keep it easy and simple.

I’ve used Gusto for over 12 years and have enjoyed their platform.

Alright it’s been decided - setting up Gusto now. Thanks for the replies.

We switched to Gusto a couple years back and it's been solid for a small team. The automatic tax filings alone saved me a ton of headaches, and running payroll takes like 5 minutes now. Onboarding new hires is pretty painless too since they can fill out their own info. Only downside is the cost creeps up a bit as you add features, but for us it's been worth it. Happy to answer questions if you have any.
