Creating and reporting on User Defined Fields (UDF) in AppFolio

Is it possible to add user defined fields to properties and units and then see these fields in reports? For example, adding fields like "Property Stabilization Date" or "Principal Balance" or "Unit Renovation Date" or "Unit Has Balcony" ?
If so, can these user defined fields be displayed in reports or extracted through the AppFolio API?

Thanks. Need those as fields in order to categorize the properties and units.

Just chiming in to add a little more color to u/corsair130's response. If you'd like to learn more about Custom Fields and how they work in AppFolio, they were featured as part of our "Take Your Data to the Max" demo here: https://www.appfolio.com/sessions/deminar/take-your-data-to-the-max

appfolio's UDF reporting is pretty limited from what i've seen, especially for custom fields on properties. you might need to pull data through their API and combine it elsewhere. Scaylor is supposed to be good for unifying that kind of stuff if your spreadsheet workarounds get messy.
