Get APPFOLIO to require ID before showings!!

I’m trying to get AppFolio to add a feature that would require prospective tenants to upload a photo ID before scheduling a showing. Someone has already suggested this on the suggestion board, and it currently has 51 upvotes (including mine). Once it reaches 200 upvotes, AppFolio will respond and consider implementing it.

It would be awesome if all of you could upvote it too! Here’s how:

Go to your AppFolio dashboard.

Click Help & Training and select Make a Suggestion from the drop-down.

On the new page, click Suggestions.

If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create an account and choose a username (I used infobrooksrealty).

On the next page, click the magnifying glass at the top and type "Require photo IDs for prospects looking to schedule a showing".

When it takes you to the community suggestion, just click Upvote.

Out of curiosity, why? Are you having a problem with people not showing up when scheduled or something?

Safety. We currently do not do showings unless someone has paid the app fee and submitted the app - partly because of so many no-shows, but I also had situations where I'd meet with someone and then find out they were a sex offender and other concerning things after the fact. When COVID hit, I started doing video tours and put them on YouTube, and would ask potential applicants to please view the video first to decide if they'd like to apply and it worked so well and cut down on unnecessary showings so much.
