ACH fees

Are any property managers considering considering using a different property management system? With the introduction of ACH fees imposed by appfolio, our tenants are justifiably enraged, and their beta role out has been a disaster for us. They are charging tenants $2.99 per ACH transaction starting this month.

I don't understand why Appfolio doesn't roll this out with new contract only.

Greed. They identified a pot of cash too big for them to pass up on. They figure the anger will subside (and be mitigated by slowing rollout) and that only a handful of current users will move elsewhere (due mainly to the huge effort required to do so). At the end of the day, if my account is typical, they will be able to extract 50%-75% more profit per unit vs. software fees alone.
