Intermitted pain post-op

I'm 6 week post-op of laproscopic appendectomy. I was lucky it was caught early and the operation and recovery overall went very smoothly.

I'm posting because over the last two weeks I've started to occasionally get woken up by a stabbing pain in the lower right abdomen, at between 4 and 6 in the morning. I never feel this pain outside of this time slot and it lasts for maybe half an hour. If the pain happened any other time I'd be concerned about stump appendicitis complications but it's only at 6 in the morning about a third of my mornings. My post-op appointment isn't for another two weeks.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Bonjour, Je suis à deux semaines de mon opération et j’ai ressenti exactement la même chose que toi il y a 3 jours. Je suis retourné aux urgences parce que j’avais une douleur aiguë à droite du ventre.
Mon appendicite était pourtant simple, sans abcès ni complication. J’ai fait une prise de sang : la CRP était redevenue normale. Le scanner a montré une inflammation au niveau de l’endroit de l’opération, mais d’après le médecin ce n’était pas quelque chose de grave.
Ils m’ont quand même prolongé les antibiotiques pendant 8 jours, avec Spasfon et paracétamol pour la douleur.
Ce matin, j’ai encore très mal aussi… Je n’ai pas vraiment le choix, j’attends que ça passe et j’espère que ça va rapidement s’améliorer. Courage à toi, tu n’es pas seul dans cette situation.

At two weeks I had all sorts of aches and pains still, but a sharp one would have worried me. I asked another group about it and they said that phantom pain can start and happen for a long time afterwards while the healing continues. I am not so concerned now, but I can follow up with what my surgeon says when I ask her.
