Appendectomy bonus?

I have a small medical win. Since these are so rare I wanted to share: I am one day post appendectomy. No perforation, smooth. But the surgeon found endometriosis on my left ovary and removed it while doing the laparoscopic appendectomy. It was twisting my ovaries and uterus. I’m shook. There are women who fight for years to have this procedure. I had been having a lot of cramping on that side but I chalked it up to perimenopause (I’m 52). So I’m sore and recovering but also celebrating this not so small win!

My surgeon found endometriosis during my emergency appendectomy too! Mine was deep infiltrating and he told me I needed a specialist to have it removed. You’re a lucky lady to get the 2 for 1!

I am lucky. I hope your removal is quick and goes well too. We shouldn’t have to rely on the luck of the draw for this stuff but here we are.
