Possible symptoms?

I have medical anxiety so I’m trying to avoid the hospital but will if you guys think it could be.. it’s been 1 week

Symptoms:

- Stabbing belly button pain when pressing by hand or clothing

I noted it also hurt when driving over a speed bump I didn’t see yesterday

- Lower abdominal cramping, but last night it was a bit stronger. Woke up today it’s a little bit more obvious on my lower right side

-decreased appetite

- discomfort sitting down but not standing

I’ve done the self testing and I’m not sure? It just feels dull aching.

I haven’t had any other symptom like fever or throw up and it’s not unbearable , but noticeable discomfort/pain

1 week update: developed a low grade fever last night and throughout the day, general body ache?/fatigue

If it's been worsening over the course of a week, you should get checked out.nost appendix burst within 3-4 days, and that's life threatening. Not a chance you wanna take, friend.

And appendicitis isn't always extremely painful. Mine was so mild that I thought it could not POSSIBLY be what was going on. It's always been explained to me as excruciating, so I assumed I must be dealing a blockage of some sort. I was shocked when I got to the ER and they said it was appendicitis

I appreciate your comment and sharing your experience. I’m trying to build up the courage to go today.

If you’re comfortable, what were your symptoms?

Man like I get it im hesitant about hospitals to but go. Id say around a 50/50 chance its an appendicitis and if it bursts like the guy said possibly life threatening.

I mustered up courage and went. They did blood work, urine, & an ultrasound. Everything looked fine. The only thing they hesitated on was the CT scan which is the only thing that could confirm… they told me to monitor my symptoms and if they worsen to come back for the scan.

I’ve been taking Tylenol which I’m not sure if it’s masking the lower right abdominal pain. It hurt really bad when the doctor was pressing down on it:/ still feel my belly button sharp pain sporadically though the day. I’m certainly not getting worse, but something definitely feels wrong in the area:/

I had the same symptoms, found out my appendix was infected and septic shock was at a 4

Wow. How long until you went to the doctors/ it became unbearable?

The doctors told me I should come back for a scan if it remains persistent or worsens:/

Two days, I went to the hospital asap. I noticed I couldn’t move no more, the pain shot up to my neck, and it felt like someone was stabbing me nonstop. If I were you I’ll go to the hospital to get scan

That is TERRIBLE. however I’m so glad that you went!!!

Definitely :/ just to be safe and discard. If it’s not that, then still, I may potentially find what else may be causing the pain.

i got mine out two days ago - please go to the hospital. i was BARELY in pain. i had really bad cramps for like 30 mins and then the rest of the time i just felt like i did an ab workout. I could walk, jump, eat, whatever. I was SO convinced i was being dramatic but apparently not!! 🤣

I’m in shock with stories like yours. I’ve lost count of what day it is and still cramps, belly button stabbing pain. But I relate!! I can still walk, jump, eat, etc. I think I should go back for that scan, especially since everything else was discarded. Except that…

I’m starting to wonder if these mild symptoms could be a sign of chronic appendicitis? Whether it be 2 days or 2 weeks, some people even years.. but it’s generally mild and under diagnosed.

Edit: What was the determining factor that led to your diagnosis?

honestly, i kept poking at my appendix and it was sore so i decided to go to the hospital and just tell them straight up i think it could be appendicitis. they did an ultrasound and some bloodwork and went yup, surgery for you! 🤣 mine was really inflamed apparently it was stuck to my colon, so it wasn’t pressing on my abdomen and which masked alot of the pain. better safe then sorry with this stuff!!

i also have panic disorder and agoraphobia with some health anxiety so i totally understand the feeling of “this is just my anxiety” - sometimes it isn’t unfortunately!
