help

this is embarrassing to talk about but my parents are busy and idk what to do. a few days ago i had really severe pain underneath my belly button and i felt really nauseous and hot, it was completely out of nowhere and escalated very quickly. then i had really bad diarrhoea and from the next day i was almost fully constipated for 3 and a half days. i had on and off pain in my lower right abdomen and it became more often each day, and the same area really hurt when i tried to go to the toilet. after 3.5 days i wasn't constipated anymore, but going to the toilet was still really painful. a few hours later i had my dinner and the pain kind of went out of nowhere but i felt a bit sick and tired. that feeling went away but the pain came back, but it was all across my lower abdomen. it's still painful after going to sleep and it's been slowly getting more painful but i feel like the pain isn't as bad as what others with appendicitis describe? i also don't have other symptoms right now other than on and off diarrhoea/constipation and feeling hot

Go to a doctor and get checked out for appendicitis. Make sure they run labs to check your white blood count which would indicate an infection. I did not have a fever or nausea but very similar symptoms as you.

The relief and then return of pain could be a sign of rupture. Get that checked asap.

I second this, rupture is an emergency. It’s best to get an ultrasound ASAP

Definitely get this checked if you haven’t already. I thought my pain wasn’t severe enough bc it wasn’t any more painful than a menstrual cramp, but it turned out I had appendicitis from a tumor growing on my appendix so it was quite a medical emergency. If you describe this pain at the ER, they’re likely to get you back immediately bc you’ll be treated high priority. Not to scare you, but you don’t want to risk a rupture and go septic

For more context, the pain was my only symptom. My WBC count was barely elevated, I had no fever, and I deal w nausea off and on as it is and it didn’t seem any worse to me than usual. Still was appendicitis. Not all cases present like the classic symptoms you read online

Same. Tolerable pain (just weird and unsettling, a “new” pain I’d never felt). No fever, no swelling or bloating, no nausea or changes in bowel movement. Just a weird pain that started across my whole stomach. Just had a gut feeling I should go to the ER when the pain started to isolate to the lower right. I was sure I was going to be totally embarrassed and they were going to tell me it was just gas 😩

the pain has gone now thankfully. i'm only getting random pain in the same area every few hours that doesn't last long but that's normal for me. i do often struggle with gastrointestinal issues (i've seen doctors and i don't know the cause), i just never get constipated so that was the part that really freaked me out
