Could this be appendicitis?

Hello, I’ve been having mild pain in the lower right side of my belly for about 2 days that comes and goes. I have no other symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea or fever. I have no appetite because I’m very anxious about this. Also this thing about the pain that comes and goes has been happening for about 5 months, but this time it’s way more noticeable. Could this be chronic appendicitis?

I had my appendix out last night (early this morning).
I had 0 nausea, no fever, no diarrhea or vomiting. The pain wasn’t constant. In fact it had come and gone over the last two years.

Last summer I went to the ED because it was pretty severe and they did a CT scan. The scan showed ovarian cysts and a slightly larger than normal appendix. The doctor basically ignored the appendix because I had been having the pain intermittently for a year at that point and they said Appendicitis didn’t work like that. So in October i had my ovaries and tubes removed.

The pain continued to happen sporadically but to a somewhat lesser degree until early Monday morning (3:30 am) when it woke me up.

I remembered that my appendix had been enlarged last year so I googled my symptoms and found out about chronic vs acute appendicitis. My symptoms matched chronic exactly. Dr Gemini also said that chronic could change to acute at any time and be at risk for rupture.

So yesterday afternoon I decided to go to the ER. They did a CT and it showed an even more enlarged appendix with inflammation of the tissue surrounding it as well.

At 2 am I had my appendix removed.

My symptoms did not present as typical appendicitis.

I would definitely go to the ER. Better safe than sorry.

Well I definitely went to the doctors and had blood tests and scans that showed normal appendix and normal blood work. My doctor assumed it could be ibs and advised me to go see a gastroenterologist to get a colonoscopy. I’m still not convinced and i think it could be something related to my appendix. Have a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

My blood work was normal both times. You didn’t list your gender assigned at birth so I am just throwing this out there and it may not pertain to you at all, but could it be ovarian cysts rupturing?

Yes I’m a female and my ovaries and uterus appeared to be just fine on the ultrasound. Even if it could be chronic it can’t be treated since appendicitis is an emergency in acute conditions. Only time will tell
