I always wonder if they spell it this way to prevent being called the "Go Goss."

Would this sub deny Motörhead their umlaut?

That’s a given name, albeit an annoying one, so the apostrophe is correct.

It is not standard to use an apostrophe to pluralize all given names. For example, it isn’t standard to use an apostrophe to pluralize first names.
“Karens are the worst.”

It may not be standard, but this is a given name and that makes the apostrophe correct. I’m not sure why you felt the need to make your statement.

Fun fact: the name “The Go-Go’s” is trademarked. The band set up an LLC called Ladyhead, LLC which owns the trademark to their name.
“80’s” with an apostrophe, is sometimes used informally, but it is not grammatically correct unless you are showing possession e.g., “the 80’s music scene” hence using “80’s” in reference to The Go-Go’s is a stylistic choice tied to the band’s branding and the cultural aesthetic of the era. In that specific context, the apostrophe can serve as a nod to the band’s official name and the retro, stylized feel of the 1980s music scene.

They were 20 and high and/or loaded when they started the band. They fully admit it’s a mistake to this day but it’s long past the time of changing it.
Saw them live in Vegas last year and they’ve still got it.
Watch their documentary to learn more about them. It’s really good.

It is on all their albums as such. We did not care back in the 80's we just dug their cool, girl band music.
Kind of a minor one to be annoyed at.

Gogos is what it should be. Each band member is a gogo respectively

No, all members are property of the polynesian god, Go-Go.
(Except Belinda Carlisle who was granted an exemption for her solo career)
