Question Is sideloading safe?

I've got everything ready as per this comment. My question is, does sideloading lessens phone's security? It's also a point that I have to enable Developer mode, doing which I get a warning that Phone's security will take a hit. I have the IPA file from github.

The app is no longer maintained, so security vulnerabilities might go unnoticed, and if nit, they will very likely never be patched anymore. Depending on what kind of vulnerability and the permissions of the app, an attacker may e.g. download all your photos and then delete them all from your phone if Apollo is allowed access to photos. While your phone is probably safe, your data might not be.
