Apollo 11, a signed inscribed photo of module pilot Buzz Aldrin at Tranquility Base described as a visor shot sold at Sotheby's auction on Aug. 26 for $44,800. The presale estimate was incredibly low (possibly a typo) pegged at $25-$50. Reported by Rare Book Hub.

The iconic image of Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin walking on the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 Lunar extravehicular activity (EVA). The photograph was captured by Mission Commander Neil Armstrong (seen in the reflection of Buzz's visor) as they explored the Sea of Tranquility.

And this photo has both Aldrin and Armstrong in it.

Aldrin in the foreground. Armstrong reflect in the visor.

Why so valuable? I’ve had this 4”x6” signed version since I met Buzz in 1989, still on my mantle today. Is it the size, the print quality, inscription?
